More than a few female NFL athletes are currently facing a felony criminal charge in connection to domestic violence incidents.
The list includes San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones, the Indianapolis Colts running back Marion Barber, and the New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma.
A number of NFL players were arrested on charges related to domestic abuse in 2017.
NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith said on “Outside the Lines” that players face a lifetime ban from the league if they are convicted of a felony domestic violence charge.
“They are banned forever,” Smith said.
“The commissioner, he would like to see the end of it.
If we don’t get it done, we’re going to be going down the road of being the last resort.”
